Games that are good for your baby's physical development. Come and play!

Mar 1, 2023

Adults may look at these things and think they are games, but they are vital to your baby's development in all areas - social, emotional, physical and cognitive. In fact, baby games are a great way to help your little one learn and develop, and parents should spend more time playing with their babies too.

1. Peek-a-boo!

Unlike peek-a-boo among children, all you have to do is cover your face with your hands and shout "peek-a-boo" to expose your face or eyes and get your baby involved. You can also change the game in new ways, which requires you to engage your brain to think. This baby game is simple but helpful in promoting your little one's social development.

2. Playing with a ball

Playing with a ball is a very common form of play. In this game, you simply roll a soft toy ball towards your child. Encourage your little one to grab it or try to roll it back. This physical play will promote your little one's physical abilities.

3. Stacking towers/blocks

Stacking towers or blocks can be a challenge as it requires some dexterity from your baby. You may choose to use blocks or even household items that you can find around the house. Build a tower or a fort with your little one. In the process, your baby will improve his or her concentration skills.

4. Singing together

When you and your baby sing together, it is sure to be a happy and warm bonding time. You can sing a children's song such as 'Twinkle, twinkle, shine', 'If you're happy and you know it' or 'The three little ducks' and watch your baby imitate your voice and words in their own way. It will be an unforgettable memory and will promote your child's healthy development.
